I didn't know that nipple art make-up could be done. I will explain it to you in an easy-to-understand way!

I will explain it to you in an easy-to-understand way!

What is nipple art make-up?

Nipple art makeup is for those who have undergone breast reconstruction, areola reconstruction, nipple reconstruction, or nipple reduction due to breast cancer.

Many of them have lost their nipples and are anxious to have a nipple that is closer to what it used to be. Nipple art make-up is a solution to this delicate problem.

Nipple art make-up is not as well known as other art make-up procedures, and not as many patients have undergone nipple art make-up.

We weigh life and appearance against each other and choose life.

However, regardless of age, they feel a great sense of loss and emotional distress.

Short downtime because no new scars are created.

Skin grafts, artificial silicone, and local skin valves are used to reconstruct the nipple lost due to breast cancer, but these methods require a long downtime (approximately 2 to 3 months) and are associated with complications such as infection. Compared to these methods, art make-up is easier to perform because of its short downtime and almost no complications.

Various color options are available.

Our nipple art makeup can be designed in detail to match the color and shape of the patient's original nipple.

Some people cannot undergo the procedure.

The following people are not eligible for nipple art makeup

  • The breast skin has been damaged by radiation therapy

  • Have excessively thin breast skin when tissue was removed during mastectomy

  • Have lymphedema in the breast

  • Have a history of infection in the breast

Cost is not covered by insurance

Depending on the hospital, plastic surgery is covered by insurance, but at present, art makeup is not covered by insurance and costs 50,000-100,000 yen.

However, since it is covered by insurance in other countries, efforts are being made to make it covered by insurance in Japan as well.

Retouching is required every 1-3 years.

Art make-up is applied to a thin area of the skin, so the ink will always fade.

However, the discoloration of the pigment due to the pigment remaining in the skin over a long period of time may spoil the beauty of the skin, so we consider it both a disadvantage and an advantage that the pigment fades over a certain period of time.

Summary.

Nipple art make-up is a procedure for those who have lost their nipples to bring them back to the way they used to be.

Nipple art make-up is not as well known as other art make-up procedures, and not many patients have undergone nipple art make-up. However, breast cancer is the leading cause of morbidity among Japanese women by region, and it is certain to attract more attention in the future.

The advantages are that it does not create new scars, so downtime is short, and there are few complications, making it easy to perform.

Disadvantages include the fact that some people may not be able to undergo the procedure, the cost is not covered by insurance, and retouching is required every 1-3 years.
